Computing and Financial Management (CFM)

What is Computing and Financial Management Program?

computing financial management

Computing and Financial Management (CFM) is Canada's only co-op program that combines computer science and mathematics with financial management and accounting in one degree. You'll be prepared to fill the increasing demands for professionals who understand modern software development and financial applications such as fraud and money-laundering detection.

Develop the know-how, networks, and experience to land a career in computer science or finance – or both. Combine your interdisciplinary studies with six co-op work terms in areas such as software development, banking, investments, risk management, or insurance.

In the CFM program, you'll learn to become a professional who applies knowledge of information technology and computer science to financial management and business operations. Complex software systems need to be developed and maintained to provide risk management services, detect fraud, and ensure compliance with accounting standards all while maintaining a high level of quality assurance. In order to develop and manage the next generation of financial and accounting systems, a solid background in fundamental computer science is required, along with an in-depth knowledge of accounting and financial management. The CFM program is designed to provide you with this unique combination of skills.
