Title: Wilmot Fellowship Chorus fonds

Dates of creation: 1953-1994 ; 1953-1963 predominant

Physical description: 12 cm of textual records

Administrative history: This group began meeting occasionally in the late 1940s to sing at Sunday evening services, and organized formally as the Wilmot Fellowship Chorus in 1953. Membership was drawn from the Mennonite Conference of Ontario churches in Wilmot Township. 

The first choir director was Nancy Burkholder. Subsequent directors included Merle Steckley, Elmer Grove, Laurence Martin, Don Burkhardt and Robert Shantz. The Chorus regularly performed Christmas and Easter programs from 1953 until the mid 1960s.

Custodial history: Received in 2018 from Ralph Shantz. The Chorus records had been housed at Shantz Mennonite Church.

Scope and content: Attendance record books, a constitution, a sampling of sheet music sung by the Chorus, programs, excuse notes from choir members for absences from rehearsals, and other miscellaneous items.
