Title: Alvin Gingerich fonds

Biographical sketch: Alvin Gingerich was born 18 November 1926 to John Z. Gingerich and Annie Steinmann Gingerich. He was the third child and second son in a family of four. Alvin died 30 April 2004 and is buried in the Steinmann Mennonite Church cemetery. His older brother was minister Orland Gingerich.

Alvin married Ruby Wagler on 28 May 1955; they had four children. They farmed west of New Hamburg, and retired in Baden. Alvin was an amateur historian, and a generous supporter of church and family history projects.

Custodial history: Donated to the Mennonite Archives of Ontario by Steinmann Mennonite Church in April 2007.

Scope and content: The fonds consists consists of historical notes and personal historical writings.
