These awards speak to the excellence of our faculty, staff and students in the School of Pharmacy

Congratulations to Dr. Shawn Wettig who has been awarded an Early Researcher Award from the Province of Ontario for his project entitled "Rational Design of Novel Surface Active Compounds for Improving Non-viral DNA Transfection Efficiencies".  

The School of Pharmacy held its first Business Awards Ceremony on April 5. Presented at the ceremony were the Scotiabank Pharmacy Entrepreneurship Award and the Pharmasave Industrial Case Study Competition Award.

Congratulations to Cynthia Richard who is one of two recipients of the Excellence in Science Teaching Awards (ESTA) for this year.  

Congratulations to our UW Pharmacy Warriors for their 4-1 victory over U of T in the OPA Cup on Saturday.  This was a tightly contested match with UW holding a slim 2-1 lead until late into the 3^rd period before an insurance goal and another into the empty net sealed the victory.   

Congratulations to Rx2013 students Annick Nguyen and Gabriela Krnac who were the winners of the 2011 Student Video competition at the Commitment to Care and Service Awards in Toronto last night. Their entertaining video on the Future of Pharmacy was well-received by the audience at the awards ceremony where pharmacists from across Canada gathered to celebrate notable achievements. 

The first class in the School of Pharmacy at the University of Waterloo officially graduated on Saturday, October 22.  The School hosted a pre-convocation reception on Friday, October 21 that was attended by more than 200 graduates, family members, faculty, staff and supporters of the program. 

Congratulations to the team of Alia Thawer, Calvin Poon, Catherine Prochazka, Vanessa Raco and Mihir Patel who are this year’s winners of the PharmaSave Industrial Case Competition. The title of their proposal was “University of Waterloo, School of Pharmacy Clinical Capstone Program: A self-sustaining business model“.

Fourth-year student and former Waterloo Society of Pharmacy Students president Jennifer Mackenzie received the 2016 Ontario Pharmacist Association’s (OPA) Student of Distinction Award for her leadership ability and commitment to advancing the profession.
