Every term, the Conversation Partner Program (CPP) offered through Renison Student Experience and Housing and pairs English language learners with volunteers to provide a cross-cultural experience through conversation and activities around the city. This opportunity is open to current Renison and University of Waterloo students.
You may choose to participate in the program as 1 of 2 roles. You may participate as an International Student/Language Leaner or as a Volunteer.
Participating as an international student/language learner, you will have the opportunity to practice conversational English outside of the classroom, learn about and explore Canadian culture, and make life-long friends.
Participating as a volunteer, you will have the opportunity to learn about various cultures from around the world and gain a memorable intercultural experience while helping an international student practice their English. In this role you will be able to explore a different culture and have fun while making a new friend! This program counts towards the Intercultural volunteer experience (IVE) for the Global Experience Certificate (GEC).
