Congrats Dibakar! New paper in the Journal of the Mechanical Behavior of Biomedical Materials.

Friday, January 24, 2020

Dr. Dibakar Mondal's first paper as a member of the WCBSL has been accepted to the Journal of the Mechanical Behaviour of Biomedial Materials (JMBBM). This is arguably the best journal for research on the mechanics of biomaterials and tissues (i.e. biomedical materials).

Dibakar's paper is entitled "Mechanical properties of nanocomposite biomaterials improved by extrusion during direct ink writing" and should appear online very shortly. In this paper, Dibakar demonstrates that extrusion of our novel nanocomposite biomaterial inks, as would occur during a form of 3d printing termed direct ink writing, increases the crystalinity of the material and results in greatly improved strength, modulus and toughness.
