Congratulations to Dr. Patricia Comeau, Research Associate and Laboratory Manager in the Waterloo Composite Biomaterial Systems Laboratory, for her paper "Printability of Methacrylated Gelatin Upon Inclusion of a Chloride Salt and Hydroxyapatite Nano-particles", which as recently accepted for publication in the journal Macromolecular Materials and Engineering.

This is some of the latest research from the Waterloo Composite Biomaterial Systems Laboratory. Congrats to Aram Bahmani and Patricia Comeau for their excellent work!

"Extrudable hydroxyapatite/plant oil-based biopolymer nanocomposites for biomedical applications: Mechanical testing and modeling" by Bahmani, Comeau, Montesano and Willett.

Congratulations to Mr. Aram Bahmani for a successful MASc seminar today in Mechanical and Mechantronics Engineering. Aram is co-supervised by Prof. Montesano (MME) and Prof. Willett (SYDE). He will successfully complete his MASc requirements by mid-November, and then carry on to McGill for his PhD. All the best, Aram!

WCBSL's collaboration with Dr. Jeff Nyman from Vanderbilt University Medical Center has yielded its first publication regarding the important role of collagen integrity, and its degradation in age and disease, in determining the fracture toughness of human cortical bone. The study was recently accepted for publication in the field leading journal, Bone.
