Paying for iBASE

What does iBASE cost?

NOTE: the following fees are for the 2024 iBASE program. 

iBASE program fee 

$6,565

iBASE program fee includes:

  • Program tuition 
  • Course materials  
  • A $200 non-refundable administrative fee for the iBASE program  
  • University support services such as access to Counselling Services, Student Success Office, etc. 
Student services fee

$200.00

  • Includes on-campus activities and city bus pass

University Health Insurance Plan (UHIP) for 7 weeks

$126.00

If you have OHIP, you can receive a refund for this amount upon showing proof of valid coverage to the English Language Institute office at Renison. 

Residence

$3025.00

Residence accommodation includes: 

  • Double room accommodation with Wifi access. 
  • Support from a Residence Don, a senior University of Waterloo student who lives in Residence and is there to support with any questions. 
  • Bed linens, including a pillow and towel.
  • All-inclusive meal plan. 
  • Move in date: anytime on Friday, July 5, 2024. 
  • Move out date: 9:00 am Wednesday, August 28, 2024. 
  • A $500 CAD non-refundable administrative fee for Renison Residence 

Total fees (including program fee, health insurance, and residence)

NOTE: Costs are for the iBASE 2024 summer program. Prices are listed in Canadian dollars. 

How do I pay for iBASE?

You must pay your tuition and fees by June 7, 2024 to reserve your place in iBASE. 

Please ensure all payments are made to Renison University College and NOT the University of Waterloo.

Making a Payment from a Bank in Canada

There are two ways to pay your fees from a Canadian bank: 

1. Bank Payment 

  • Add Renison University College as a bill payment “payee”. 
  • Use your student ID number as the “account number”.   Please be very sure that you are using the correct student ID number. 
    If your student number does not work when you make the payment, please email eli@uwaterloo.ca to request a Renison student number. Please provide your full name, UWaterloo student number, and indicate that you are an iBASE student in the email. 
  • Allow 2-4 business days for your payment to reach Renison University College. 
  • If you post-date your payment, we will not be able to process it until the date of the payment. Late fees may apply. 

2. Certified Cheque, Money Order or Bank Draft from a Canadian Bank 

  • Payable to Renison University College. 
  • include your student number and name on the memo line of the payment. 

Making a Payment from a Bank in Another Country

1. Convera GlobalPay for International Students (preferred method of payment). 

  • Please ensure you submit this payment to Renison University College - not the University of Waterloo 

2. Certified cheque, International money order, or bank draft. 


NOTE: Renison University College does not encourage or support sending your international payment using a third-party payment service other than Convera GlobalPay.  If you choose to use an unauthorized payment service, Renison University College is not responsible for any issues you may experience, such as:

  • a delay in the arrival of the payment
  • a delay in the issuing of your receipt
  • tracking the payment
  • refunding the payment

Program Refund

The iBASE program fee includes a $200 CAD non-refundable administrative fee. If you are unable to attend iBASE, you may apply for a refund by submitting your cancellation request in an email to eli@uwaterloo.ca  before the first day of the program, July 8, 2024. You will be eligible to receive the amount you paid to Renison, less this $200 fee and any applicable banking fees. 

The iBASE residence fee includes a $500 CAD non-refundable administrative fee. If a student is unable to obtain a study visa, this administrative fee will be refunded, following the submission of supporting documentation.  

NOTE: Your spot in Renison residence for iBASE will not be held for the fall term. You are responsible for arranging fall term accommodations.
