What are the fees, and how do I pay them?

• Tuition and fees for your course or program can be found online.
  • If you study in iBASE, your fees can be found on the iBASE website.
  • If you study in BASE, your fees can be found on the BASE website.
• If you registered on your own, you will receive an email from us with instructions for paying the application fee and tuition deposit.
• If you registered as part of a group, please talk to the coordinator at your home institution.
• Payment of the application fee and deposit officially confirms your registration for the program. It allows us to send you a Letter of Acceptance (LOA).
• The remaining tuition and fee amounts you owe must be paid two weeks before the start of the program you have registered for.

• International students who are currently living outside of Canada are encouraged to use Convera GlobalPay to pay their tuition and fees.

  • If you are a BASE student, please visit the Payment Options webpage on the Student Financial Services website for instructions to pay your fees.

Cancellation and deferral policy

If you are unable to attend your program, please read our Cancellation & Deferral Policy for information regarding withdrawals, refunds, cancellations, and deferrals. Should you have any questions, please contact us at renison.ip@uwaterloo.ca .

Travel documents: passports, visas, study permits, and more!

In addition to your passport, you may need other travel documentation, such as an eTA, visa, and/or study permit, before you are allowed to study in Canada.

If you will be studying in Canada for six months or longer, you will need a study permit. As per the University of Waterloo's International Student Experience website:

If you are not a Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident of Canada, you must have a valid study permit for the post-secondary level to study at a university in Canada; an exception is when the duration of your program of study is six months or less. 

Students studying for less than six months at Renison or the University of Waterloo do not require a study permit.  However, you may still need one or more of the following:

• Visas and Electronic Travel Authorizations (eTA's)
  • Depending on your country of citizenship, you may need a visa or Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA).
  • To determine what travel documentation or authorizations you may need, and how to apply, please visit the website for Canada's immigration department: Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC).

Once you have all your necessary travel documents, we strongly encourage you to make electronic copies (i.e. a scan or picture taken with your phone) of these documents. 

Once you have made your copies, please send them by email to yourself and a trusted family member or friend.In the unlikely event you were to lose your travel documents, these copies will act as "back-up" information you can use to obtain new travel documents.
