Thank you for considering a gift to United College in memory of Alexandra "Alex" Foto who passed away on August 7, 2014.
Just prior to coming to the University of Waterloo, Alex wrote out her personal goals for the coming year. The first goal was to "Go to Waterloo and shine." And shine she did! During her time at the University of Waterloo, Alex left an indelible mark on countless students, faculty and staff and we thank you for helping us to honour her memory in a lasting and meaningful way.
The Alex Foto Memorial Fund supports fourth-year International Development students that care deeply, like Alex did, about humanitarian and poverty issues.
Thanks to the generous support of Alex's family and friends and members of the United College community, the Fund is endowed with the necessary capital to provide an annual award of $1,000. The first recipient of the Award will be named in August 2016 prior to their eight-month overseas field placement.
Your support today will help increase the capital to allow for larger awards to be given out to deserving students in the future.
